Do you know the Newly Constructed Venues for Rio 2016 Summer Olympics?

Venues for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Paralympics can be classified in three groups. These three groups are 2016

Summer Olympics Newly Constructed Venues, Summer Olympics Previously Existing Venues Venues 2016 Summer Olympics Temporary Venues.

Besides, the 2016 Summer Olympics Venues in Rio de Janeiro and others out of Rio de Janeiro. The venues out of Rio will be used for the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Football for both men and women.

Among the Rio 2016 Olympic venues, there are 9 venues which have been newly constructed.

These are:-

1. Deodora Arena is another newly constructed venue and has a capacity to hold 5000 spectators in one sitting. This newly constructed venue will better venue for Fencing sport as well as the elimination rounds for Basketball

Olympics Mountain Bike Park is located in the Deodora Olympics Clusters.

It was constructed at a cost of USD 8.4 million with a capacity of 5000 fans. It will host the Summer Olympics Cycling Sport, specifically the mountain bike.

Olympics Training Centre in Deodora will be host of both Summer Olympics and Paralympics. It’s a newly constructed Venue replacing the initial structure; Nielesen Piquet International Autodrome. Its construction started in the year 2009 and it will be ready to host the Summer Olympics. Its construction cost is US $ 195 million. OTC has the highest capacity as it can hold almost 108000 spectators in its nine venues which are:-

HSBC Arena -12000

Lenk Aquatic Centre -6500

Tennis Stadium -18000

Olympics training Centre hall 1, which has the capacity to hold 16000 fans, it was constructed at a cost of about 5.7 million dollars and will host basketball preliminary and knock out stages for men and women in Carioca 1 which is an indoor arena

Olympic Training Centre hall 2 will host 2016 Rio Olympics Judo and Taekwondo. It has capacity of 12000 fans have been constructed at a cost of 5.7 million dollars, its also known as Carioca 2, also an indoor arena

Olympic Training Centre hall 3 is another newly constructed venue that costed USD 5.7 million with a capacity that hold up to 10000 spectators. It will host the Olympics Wrestling sport for both men and women [carioca 3] – indoor arena

Rio Olympics Velodrome is part of Olympics Training Center is the venue for Track cycling in the Rio 2016 Olympics, with a capacity to hold 5000 spectators, it was constructed at a cost of about 4 million USD. It was constructed on the site of the 2007 Barra Velodrome which was demolished to pave way for this Rio Olympic Velodrome

Rio Olympic Velodrome has 3 permanent halls and one temporary hall. Velodrome permanent halls are

Arena Carioca 1 – which has capacity of 16000 Arena Carioca

Arena Carioca 2 – which has capacity of 10000

Arena Carioca 3 – which has capacity of 1000

Velodrome temporary venue is Hall 4 [Future Arena] with a capacity to hold 12000 /Carioca 4 will host Handball sports events. By now it’s done like 75%

Pontal is a temporary venue with a capacity to hold 5000 fans. Located in the Barra Cluster, it’s a small Peninsula in the Rio’s, Recrio suburb. This will be the venue for Race walk for Summer Olympics Athletics men and women and Time Trial for the Olympics Cycling sport which will include:

Men time trial 59.6km, 2 laps

Women time trial 29.8km, 1 lap

Race walk for men will be 4 laps which cover 119.2km which is part of 256.4km and women 1 lap road race walk covering 29.8km which is part of 130.3km

Another newly constructed venue is the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics Golf Course; located at Reserva de Marpendi in Barra it will also be known as Olympic Golf Course.

Yet another newly constructed venue is the Olympics Aquatic Arena with a capacity to hold 18000 spectators. This is the venue for Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Aquatic sports; swimming and water polo

Olympics BMX Center was constructed at a cost of 1.2 million dollars and will host BMX cycling events and holds up to 7500 spectators in one sitting

Olympics Tennis Center constructed at a cost of close to 6.3 million US $, this venue has a capacity to hold 18250 spectators. It will be the venue for Tennis sport with 50 courts.

Olympic Whitewater Stadium in the Deodora Cluster is the venue for canoe events as well as Kayak slalom events. It has capacity to hold 8000 fans and was constructed at a cost of US$ 3.1 million.
