2016 Rio Olympics Venues outside Rio de Janeiro includes Belo Horizante's Mineirao Stadium, which together with Sao Paulo's Arena Corinthians, Manaus' Arena da Amazônia, Salvador's Itaipava Arena Fonte Nova and Brazil capital city; Brasilia's Mané Garrincha Stadium will be hosts to football matches for both men and women in the coming Summer Olympics to be held in from August 3rd to August 21st.

Belo Horizante is city that has its name if translated into English will mean Beautiful Horizon, it actually a beautiful horizon you just need to be there. This is the sixth largest city in Brazil, but the third most populous city after Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. It is a beautiful city no wonders its name, besides it was the first Brazilian city to be planned; this planning took place in 1890. So you can imagine the beauty and organization of this capital city of Minas Gerais state, one of the Brazil’s 27 states.

Minas Gerais state is on the shore of Atlantic Ocean, south of Brazil, but north of Sao Paulo state.

Mineirao Stadium

Belo Horizante’s Mineirao Stadium is hosting some of the matches for the Olympics football sport. It will host both men and women football matches for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

Mineirao Stadium official name is Estádio Governador Magalhães Pinto and is said to be one of the largest in the world with a capacity to hold about 58,000 people. Constructed for five years from 1960 and opening its door in 1965, it was last renovated to accommodate the 2014 FIFA World Cup, a huge renovation that took three years ending in the year 2012.

For men football, Mineirao Stadium will host two group matches on the 10th of August, one second stage match on the 13 August and the Men’s Bronze medal match to be held on the 20th of August.

As for the women, Mineirao Stadium will host 2 group matches on the 10th of August, and another two group matches on the 6th of August. It will host one quarter finals on the 12th of August and one semifinal match for the women football on the 16th of August.

For both men and women matches, it host a total of 10 matches where four will be men football matches and six will be women football matches
